Forgot media compatibility, all the SAV’s we tried were a lot better than on our 1640, but still not great. I hear a lot of the companies are actually happy to warranty their SAV now so there’s a start at least
We have a 1640 but went to a demo of the 1650.
looks like they’ve ironed out a lot of the problems that still exist with the 1640 (that they should’ve just fixed there, that’s another story).
the sellable print speeds were still actually pretty quick. We took our own media’s down and there...
Not familiar with that specific machine but In rasterlink in the quality settings cant you change the overprint to 2,3 etc to essentially give it a double hit?
I could be talking nonsense though.
Depends if they’re all the same or not, I run a Colorado and the first way I mentioned makes my life easier. We had a 6000sqm job (approx 65k sq ft) and I basically just told it in the layout copies to print 600 copies or whatever with a 80mm space between.
Even as a roll ran out the Colorado...
I’d set up the 30 copies or whatever sheet size you prefer, then after you’ve hit print now, edit the layout copies. I.e 7 copies, then change the space between copies to your liking.
That or you could edit the sheet size you have selected, keep the width as-is then change the length to your...
We used to print posters and mount them to foam boards with spray adhesive. Always hated it. Glue everywhere. Then you’d touch one of the artworks and bam. Fingerprint.
Switched to just mounting matt vinyl to kappa and it’s been a dream since. Also vinyl is a bit easier to clean and slightly...
Never had this problem with strokes, only get it when the file had been flattened and the “convert all strokes to outlines” was left checked. If you zoom in really close, when you click the line does it give you a path in the centre or a path either side of the line?
your best bet is a print/cut solvent. Maybe a very old mimaki cjv30-100 or something similar. You wouldn’t need it to be too large so the metre wide one would be fine. (Likely second hand).
then you can get into deciding what self adhesive vinyls you’re going to use for the decals and can...
There’s probably a good reason you can’t disable it. I.e. you turn it off for the weekend come back and have to spend half an hour cleaning it. That and you’d be more angry if it started printing with nozzles missing and you waste “x” amount of media before you notice.
As others have said, the...
Are there any alignments etc you need to go through after fitting a new head? Not familiar with that machine but when we got a new head on our mimaki we had to go through a few tests.
try printing uni directional and seeing if that makes them look any better.
This reminds me of every Christmas when we do a deal on canvases. I can’t tell you how many customers have sent in an oblong shaped photo and asked for a square canvas. Peoples heads right at the edges of the photos and everything. “Can’t you just make it square?”
Sounds an awful lot like this...
