  1. Onyx/Oce Colorado communication issues

Also, while I’m here. I fixed the communication issues, I was at the stage where the pc wouldn’t even let me open the printers web tools. All seemed to be fixed with a new IP and it’s working great. Not sure why canon needed to be different and make everyone get a PC with two network cards...
  2. Onyx/Oce Colorado communication issues

We did complain to canon/oce pretty much stating exactly what you said, their response was that if you buy a 2018 model car, you don’t complain about the stuff that comes with the 19 model. Which is complete BS. They don’t tell you the 2018 model is eventually going to have all the bells and...
  3. Which Printer to Use?

I’ve just never seen you help with an actual problem other than telling someone to buy a new machine. Two different threads today I’ve seen you tell people to buy new machines instead of helping with the problem they asked about. Just a happy coincidence that you sell all the machines you’re...
  4. Which Printer to Use?

He’s asking which of HIS printers will be better. Not asking to buy a printer that you sell, Bruce. Very unprofessional.
  5. Translucent VS Transparent

“The tummy rules the mind” is definitely my next tattoo
  6. What Direction Do You Weed Your Cut Vinyl?

Naturally, if you cut vinyl with a 45 degree blade, you need to weed it at 45 degrees in the opposite direction. Problem solved. I’ll take my cheque.
  7. Need Help Summa T Series S2 160

There’s a few options in the software/on the cutter that might be doing that. You can choose if you want the cutter to take the settings from the cut server, or the summa. We just have a bunch of presets on the summa and tell it to ignore the cut server. Speed is probably the likely culprit if...
  8. What hourly rate do you charge for jobs that require two people onsite?

I suppose it depends on the actual install. I.e do you need a gopher or two lead guys? This wouod probably be specific to your shop and/or the individual job. The on site charge should definitely be higher than the shop charge. You need to also pay for the work in the shop that these guys might...
  9. ICC Profiles

We don’t have that media, but you should be able to just open the printer and profile download manager, put in your printer etc and download profiles from there. Or make your own as per above
  10. What hourly rate do you charge for jobs that require two people onsite?

Do you pay the second guy less when he’s on site? Assuming that’s a no, why should you take the hit and not the customer?
  11. Logo for Organic Supply

There are plenty websites filled with people that do make logos all day every day. I’d suggest outsourcing to those, you’ve admitted yourself that you’re not great at designing logos, so outsource them and spend more time on the things you’re good at, like giving Gino the thumbs down :roflmao:
  12. S2T160 G performance

So does it make everything faster right away, or does it just take the info from cutter control?
  13. S2T160 G performance

With it activated; there’s an option for selecting mark registration in the summa cutter control. You can either choose high quality or high speed. Same with cut speed, there’s “high quality” or “high speed”. Haven’t really played around with it yet, though.
  14. ISO 48" mesh banner with PVC backer

Might be an extra charge but you could probably convince a supplier to cut some rolls to a specific width for you? We get a lot of repeat jobs that are weird widths and no colours bleeding off the edges so just get the rolls in that size. Can’t see why they wouldn’t cut a roll down for you
  15. Printing White s80600

For the barcode? You’d have to tape around the whole thing. Probably easier for me to just draw two lines in each corner on the mimaki.
  16. Printing White s80600

This is exactly how we do it, then we draw over the register marks for the mimaki. Works well. Now just to find a way to achieve this on the summa using the barcode.. not keen on drawing that one lol
  17. HELP! Signs sticking together

For pretty much all our signs, we just Use the backing sheet as a cover for the face when it’s done. At that size it should take about 5 seconds and a couple bits of tape to put it back on. Naturally with that quantity, it does add a bit more labour overall!
  18. S2T160 G performance

Just seemed odd that there wasn’t an explanation for the file I didn’t need lol. I guess it’s essentially a firmware update? Seems odd that it doesn’t just naturally come with that enabled?
  19. S2T160 G performance

When I go to the actual summa machine and open up the G-performance menu, it says it’s already been activated. Good to go?
