How different is that than just cleaning out the temp files manually once every week or so?

GOT IT!!! Someone on the Corel forum recommended searching for and dumping all the tmp files on the computer. That did it! I recall searching for the tmp files months ago using the old XP method of *.tmp and nothing showed up. Use %temp% instead. I had 12 GB worth. Give it a go...

Except for the fact that for the last several months since installing it - up until very recently - it was blisteringly fast. There's something going on here to be causing this which I'd really like to resolve.

Yes, I have Adobe Design Standard 5.5. (PS/Illy/InDesign), but usually just running CorelDraw X6. The thing is, it used to absolutely fly on this relatively new computer, now this pausing on copy/paste/open/close. Grrrr

What's odd is that I'm only experiencing this sluggishness with CorelDraw, nothing else. The only possible correlation I can make is that it may have started about a week ago after I deleted about 60 fonts from my system. But you would think that would make it run faster!

Yes, it's set to defrag at 1:00 am Wed, weekly, but I always turn off my computer at end of day, so is it actually ever running the defrag at other times?

Defrag made no difference. C= Used space: 148 gig Free space: 782 gig When I go to C:/ > Properties, I see a "Disk Cleanup" option; is that different from defrag?

Running the defrag now. (I was under the impression that good ol' defrag wasn't required on Win7).

It was set at 150, I put it at 25. No change.

OK, I'll give that a try. But if was lightning-fast before, how would that account for the real cause?
