Another race-pace full day. The rep said that there didn't appear to be anything wrong (that code), and that often just turning it off and then on again will resolve it. He directed me to the Roland site for a firmware update for the printer, which may have been the problem - a disconnect...

Thanks. I turned it off, and on again, and did a test print and it's working ok. My rep just happens to be dropping by this morning as he's in the area! Will report back as to the outcome.

I came into my shop this morning to find my SP540i beeping, and with a "Service Call 0008" message on the display. (I had turned the machine off at the end of the day yesterday). Anyone know what this is?

Thanks Dana. It's sounds like a test print might be the best way to go. It seems counter-intuitive to dial in the feed calibration for one's particular machine, only to have that overwritten by a media profile. -shrug-

I'd bet money against that. They're just basic vectors filled with 85% K. Could it be that the pressure associated with the inner rollers is too high? :help

These banners are 4' x 20-30 feet long, and because of some other print issue, I'm having to run the head-height at "low", so I feel that I need the 3 inside rollers. I'm trying to figure out why the heck it would leave marks on the 85 & 90% black, but nowhere else on the varied print...

I'm printing some big banners (13 ox JetFlex gloss). The lettering which is 85% black and a graphic which is 90% black (on 100% black flooded background) is getting track marks from the pinch rollers. They don't appear on any other parts of the print. The print is obviously not returning...
