medium cleans while jiggling the carriage back and forth should do the trick. I suspect you have a bad seal on the capping station and the head is not getting vaccum when running the cleaning. The bad seal probably lead to the dry out of the head in the first place.
the bottom letters are Gemini so we drilled and mounted with posts and pads. The top router cut letters are mounted with vhb and silicone. The vhb held them up til the silicone set up.
I must have missed something....
there is a well know method in the roland community that when you are running a medium clean you can wiggle the carriage back and forth to get the capping station to seal. This will draw ink into the head and cure nozzle drop out sometimes.
