We seam banners all the time, and plan to print so the seam to be in the area of least problem with matching both sides so it all lines up. We use banner tape in two or three places, and place gorilla glue between the banner tape, works like a dream!

Mosh, sorry to hear that,hope you can find some other work for the printers soon. I wonder when our number one client will decide to do the same thing. We have seen a number of companies set up their own sign shops, and it is not just private companies.

If you want it to hold, overlap 4 - 6 inches, 3 strips of hem tape, gorrilla glue between the tape, and it will hold just fine. Also as pointed out put a grommett in at the overlap.
