  1. More vibrant colours, how to achieve?

One thing id recomend it printing off the cmyk color chart from signlab (You can find it buried in the signlab program folder on your hard drive as a .cdl). Just import, size, and print. I put our name above and hung it up on the wall, so that I can reference it when I need to match a color.

  3. Prepping vehicle windows

I usually use alcohol, but helped a window tint shop redo a vision print job (their customer changed their mind on a couple images) a couple weeks ago. The decal (70/30 briteline) had only been on a less than 48 hours and the adhesive was completely adhered to the glass (usually it will "snap...
  4. How to get your printer off the truck!

We never got anything that big but, we got a couple 4x8 tables on casters that we've used to get it off the truck and inside our building at least. Then find a couple buddies to help lift it off the table if its still too big after unboxing.
  5. Need Help Jet Ski Wrap - Sea Doo Gti 130

I usually just take a bunch of pictures of the areas that need covered and stitch and size them together (I use signlab 10). Then overlay where I want pieces to be and oversize my printed panels and trim them back afterwards. It's a bit of grey area, but you might be able to find a template...
  6. Mimaki JV33-130 near York ,pa

Can you share any pics of the previous test print, wiper, print head, take the cover off the head (2 philips screws) and show the dampers? What ink are you using (SS21) and are they OEM? Have you tried a custody or nozzle wash (follow steps and fill the cap with the cleaning fluid (spc-0369)...
  7. Mimaki JV33-130 near York ,pa

Whats the issue? We had a JV33-130 for 7 years and just replaced it.
  8. CRAZY returning customer

I'd be curious too as to where the fire originated (your junction, ballast, socket, etc.) and what caused it (loose wire, screw through wire, old ballast, lightning strike, etc.). I would not admit any fault right away because of length of statutes, but I'd try to get the fire marshall's report...
  9. Can't open Corel

A lot of the newer softwares are also dependent on your computers hardware. They usually only go back a few generations on consumer products, so if youre computer is too old (even windows 10 is almost 4 years old which is 65 in technology years) they may not even support it.
  10. Signlab Changes Colors

Been using signlab since 6.0 (8, 8.1,9) and am now using 9.1 for edge2 and 10 for our mimakis. It's a vicious circle, but the problem probably lies in the profiles/calibration of your monitor & signlab. Signlab uses different profiles for bitmaps (even rgb & cmyk are different) and vectors and...
  11. How long do you leave printed material on printer(post heat area)?

I wouldnt recommend leaving it on idle every night, but if it's once in a while it should be fine. Our JV33 lasted about 7 years (we ran average 3-6 hours/day) and then put it in sleep mode at the end of the day (never completely shut them off or unplug as they have automatic cleaning cycles)...
  12. Question Need best Electronic Message Center vendor

Weve been using cirrus systems www.cirusled.com for a couple years. Their displays are 9mm pitch full color and come in 1ft by 2ft sections that can be bolted together to make a bigger sign. Best things are that since its a modular system they can get it out to you in usually under a week and it...
  13. Question Help! Contour Cut Issues

My first thought if it's ripping through I'd check the blade tip to see if its broken. The blade tip should just be barely sticking out of the holder (helps if you have a loupe to see/adjust the depth). What vinyl/laminate & pressure are you running? When was the last time you replaced the...

  15. JV33 Print Quality

How old is the machine? JV33s are starting to get outdated. What ink are you running, SS21? When was the last time you replaced the dampers? Running high quality with a lot of ink non stop can cause drop out/light color and is hard on old dampers. Have you tried a fill up ink (sometimes the...
  16. Suggestions Looking for New Print & Cut machine

I have both a Mimaki CJV150-130 and a Mimaki JV150-130 with a Mimaki CG-130 FXii plotter. While I'm impressed with both machines. I prefer to have the cutter seperate from the printer so I can do multiple jobs at once. 2 things about the CJV is the cutter is not as good as the FXii (it's...
  17. "Compatible" SS21

We run OEM SS21 in our CJV150-130 & JV150-130 (but theyre still under warranty), but if youre out of warranty and you want to use them, id be a little cautious too unless the ink mfg gives you a warranty.
  18. Contour Cutting

I get kinda the same issue. I notice creep from time to time on my mimaki. It will be accurate up front, but will be off in the back left corner for some reason. I print with 4 corner registration marks, the cutter does a pre-cut calibration with all 4, then when you send the cut file over it...
  19. What Is The Monthly Software Rental Fee Total If You Rent Like A Drunken Sailor?

I'm not a big fan of program subscriptions either. I can see that it probably helps on cracking down on piracy and lowering startup costs, but I don't like having to rely on the cloud or remember to have enough in my bank account to work. I use gimp, inkscape and signlab 10 (started with 6 back...
  20. I'm looking for a new print and cut machine, currently using Mimaki CJV150-130

We just got our CJV150-130 last December to replace our JV33-130. We still run our JV150-130 with a CG-130 fxii. I prefer the JV & CG over the CJV as the cutter on the CJV is essentially just a SRiii and the pinch rollers don't seem to hold as well. It also allows me to print and cut jobs at the...
