i have had this happen on rare occasions with our xc don't know what caused it. not sure if it was the machine, the rip or the file. not a common thing it would just pop up every once in a while. if you run smaller batches it may help so if the first 5 or 6 rows cut good then just reduce the...
when i first started if our computer was down i had to use this to make text. shoot each letter one at a time on 35mm film and then go in the dark room and develop it.
could be the print head and need an ink renewal (run some cleaning fluid through to help clean the head) but more than likely its static
we have a similar issue with our roland lej. we use an anti-static spray that helps cut it down sprayway, SW-955 anti-static eliminator spray.
we also use it...
there is a way to convert your solvent printer to print films for silk screening but you have to change the ink over (i forgot who does it and what ink they use) you will never print an opaque film for silk screening out of a normal solvent printer
even that would be fine just quote the job with them doing the removal. what's the difference if they remove it with their secret technology real quick or you do it and take a long time. i choose not getting my hands dirty on that one
right now we have all rolands.
vp-540, xc 540, xr-640, vg-540 and lej-640 all work great and all have had little bugs in the begining. nothing major and our vendor was able to fix everything as needed.
i would say the xc has really been our work horse and is our oldest printer other than the vp...
seems like when ever roland puts out a new printer it has bugs that need to be worked out. fortunately we have been lucky enough to avoid most of these and before you get your panties in a bunch we have 5 rolands currently that we use. we started with a 30in print cut unit about 17yrs ago and...
we have had ours for about 3-4 months now also and it's been good. a few bugs here and there but our vendor got pretty much everything worked out for us as it happened. i will say this it does a lot of automatic cleanings and you will have to do a manual cleaning once a week. you have to empty...
also try unrolling the banner material so there is slack. sometimes because of the weight of the material or the static as it unrolls it has a tougher time pulling it through. the slack gives less stress as it pulls through
turns out its a banner approx 5ft x 35ft and just mounted to a brick building. not sure on the height yet but if you work in that area and interested let me know and i will get them your contact info
thanks
