  1. Paint and floor color gurus, Need advice!

Painted concrete might be ok for the shop area, but it is cold, and hard on the back standing on it all day, requiring rubber mats. Definitely use a nice, new commercial carpet in the receiving area, with a large commercial door mat on the inside, and an appropriate one on the outside.
  2. Goodbye Whitney Houston

What I'm getting at, is that it didn't cost her anything. I'd encourage you to think about that concept. Ya, me too. Your point being? It appears your extrapolating far too much here. People are simply making observations.
  3. Goodbye Whitney Houston

Wow, that's really something. I'm sure those starving children there were also on-board with her decision. Cough - gag - sputter......a Christian?!?!?! Pounds head on desk.
  4. Goodbye Whitney Houston

No, I am not, it is you who is glued to this "life defined" idea. The mega-rich have to do this kind of stuff, otherwise their peers (and the world) look at them in a less than favourable light. The fact is that any money did give or raise, cost her nothing.
  5. Goodbye Whitney Houston

It may not "define" an entire life (whatever that means) but when it ends one's life, then yes, it's the result of those choices. She didn't get hit by a train, she made the clear & conscious choice to ingest/inject dangerous drugs into her own body. To think of all the selfless good she could...
  6. Goodbye Whitney Houston

I think we're merely pointing out that life is a series of choices, and she made some poor ones. It's no different than a person who chooses to drive at triple the speed limit all the time. When they eventually crash & burn, do we feel that they were a victim somehow? No.
  7. Goodbye Whitney Houston

Nonsense. It is not "a disease like anything else"; it is the result of a CHOICE to put certain chemicals into your body which are KNOWN to be addictive. How is that a disease, like Parkinsons for example?
  8. Goodbye Whitney Houston

Not much sympathy from me on this. She had a successful career and bazzillions of dollars to enjoy the rest of her pampered life, and what does she CHOOSE to do? Drugs. Pfft
  9. Paint and floor color gurus, Need advice!

Take a photo of the interior and take it with you to a good paint supply place; they're usually pretty good with advice. You can look at all the colours there too.
  10. Tutorial on this?

I think I recall seeing a tutorial years ago on how to do this "inner shadow" treatment in CorelDraw. Can someone kindly refer me to it, or just provide the steps required? Cheers
  11. Key Commands changing?

One thing I forgot to say: Before I did these updates, I clicked on Help > Updates, and got the message "There are no updates available at this time". Why would it give that message when there clearly was updates available?
  12. new logo idea

The image in post #11 is quite unreadable, and completely illegible looking at the thumbnail.
  13. beer font

It's on an old font CD I bought probably about 16-18 years ago. In the file it says: File Version: Altsys Fontographer 4.1 1994 Bay Animation Inc. :help
  14. new logo idea

The main font simply doesn't say "Hog Wild". Maybe try the "Splash" font, with the letters jostled around.
  15. A few logo concepts

Not so much a rule as a guideline. It strikes back to the primitive "stuff" still rattling around in our brains about food, and how for tens of thousands of years, food meant fire, and fire is hot, not cold, so cold colours generally are off-putting to us in the sub conscious regarding food...
  16. Help With Art Deco Font

    Really? Coool
  17. Help With Art Deco Font

Oh ya, his influence was, and has been huge. I'd like to visit the Gamble House in California.
  18. A few logo concepts

There we go. Generally avoid cold colours for food related designs, with some exceptions; Greek for example.
  19. Help With Art Deco Font

    You lucky bastards.
  20. Help With Art Deco Font

I love all things Arts & Crafts (it's not Art Deco). I've made & bought numerous furniture pieces myself. Did anyone else see that documentary on Frank Lloyd Wright?
