might sound silly but are you sure there is black ink in the cart.? i had that on my roland once and turned out the chip on the cart. was bad or not reading right for some reason so the computer was telling me i had ink but the cart. was really empty

+1 to above. there is also a 3M hi tac tape that will work also if you can't get the gorilla tape but you shouldn't need it

we have the lej 640 hybrid uv and it is not fast by any means. great printer for what we use it for but speed is not one of it's good traits.

we bought a 30" roland for our first machine and with in a year we ended up buying a 54" machine. if you can handle the area it takes up (and it's not much more than the 30") go bigger. like already mentioned if even for a small amount of use at the larger size it just gives you more options.
