  1. Problems Creating Profiles With Oynx 10 Postershop.

What ICC profiling software are you using? Postershop x10 does not have the Onyx ICC module enabled, so you must use a 3rd-party profiling package for the ICC creation (i1 Match/ ProfileMaker/ i1 Profiler etc).
  2. Versaworks - Oracal vs 3M Print Times?

Check whether the Oracal media profile is set to W-Pass. This print mode (w-pass) will almost double the pass count (for example 6-pass goes to 10-pass), which in turn will slow down print throughput considerably (~80%). Another factor to be checked is the Head Speed defined in the media...
  3. Super slow rip ing

If this is a postscript file (PS, PDF, or EPS) there would be nothing unusual about this. Postscript files often contain effects that are highly compute-intensive for RIPs to calculate, and this tends to takes more time. If the file is raster-based (pixels), such as TIF or JPG, it might be...
  4. Banding When Feeding From a New Full Roll??

I would suggest that you: 1. Utilize more pinch roller wheels (you can use between 2 and 7 on that machine). 2. Perform a feed calibration with a full roll (Function > Calibrate). 3. Print at 720dpi (Standard resolution) unless you're imaging onto scrim banner material.
  5. static cling vinyl no print nice...how come?

Static cling vinyl tends to have a short shelf life, due to plasticizer migration. In the case of General Formulations Concept 207 cling, they note the storage stability at only 3 months. Heat over 75 degrees f and humidity above 50% increase migration of plasticizers. These factors could...
  6. main board from Indonesia

    Don't walk. Run away.
  7. L25500 Scrap Printing

While you can print on pieces of 'scrap' media, it is generally a poor idea on most roll-fed large-format printers. This is because there is generally at least one (if not more than one) rough hand-cut side which is more prone to causing head strikes and other problems, such as transfer of...
  8. Effects in Illustrator

What resolution have you been rasterizing to?
  9. Why would anyone need a 1.6M wide plotter / cutter?

The Oce 9300 is a re-branded Mutoh Valuejet. You will find many here with both the Mutoh and Mimaki printers, and they are both well-regarded printers. I would look at ink costs and service options for each in your area and decide from there.
  10. HP Latex users

It depends which class of media that you are printing on. For self-adhesive vinyl, HP recommends 10 pass at a minimum. 8 pass can yield good results on some certain media products, when paired with the right media profiles, and with the heaters dialed-in for that media. This chart describes HP...
  11. Can I print to the edges on my ValueJet 1204?

I know of no roll-feed printer (such as the Mutoh you mention) that is able to put ink to the edge of the media.
  12. Color Management Software

Onyx Postershop (and higher versions) have this functionality. It also has Pantone lookup tables integrated into the RIP (again Postershop and higher).
  13. Seiko Color Painter w-64s Wasatch Profiles

Incorrect. The HP Designjet 9000S is based on the original ColorPainter 64S
  14. Unwanted Masks

I see what you did there...
  15. VersaWorks and CMYK Files?

Versaworks does not like compressed TIF files. Make sure that your settings in Photoshop are not set to using LZW or other compression algorithm when saving the file.
  16. JV33 won't print solid colors

That would not be a profile issue, it sounds more like plumbing. I'd look at the dampers first, and possibly slow the carriage speed and see what effect that has on the problem.
  17. L26500, this many problems?

Also make sure that your firmware is up to date. On the L26500, current firmware is 6.0.0.3. This is updated via the embedded web server.
  18. Color issues with my SP-300

I believe that most of the Roland users are using the Roland Color System for solid color reproduction. It requires that you run the Roland RIP (Versaworks) to drive your printer (unless other RIP developers are supporting RCS of late). It bypasses the ICC-based workflow, and converts to CMYK...
  19. Options you'd like to see in VersaWorks?

This is doable from the Job Settings dialog > Clip and Tile Tab.
  20. JV3-SP too much magenta

Start with the Test Draw, to verify that your nozzles are performing properly, and not experiencing cross-contamination. If you are, that is almost certainly the culprit. If not, then your media profiles (in your RIP) would be the next place I would check. Hope this helps.
