  1. Our city gets 10% of the electronic sign?

I look at it this way. The section of code you posted says 10% of the time must be used for city public service messages. What it doesn't say is that you must display them for free. Charge them $50 every time you display their message and you can pay that sign off real quick.
  2. Can't Silkscreen, Heat Press, what is this?

I have 4 possible ideas. I'm not sure if they will work: 1. Pad printing would work if it wasn't too big. 2. Depending what it needed to look like you might also be able to laser engrave it since its like a leather material. 3. Try contacting stalhs. They sell heat press material for many...
  3. DTG printer

we have a kiosk and had all the problems everyone is listing here: white ink problems, inconsistent output, nozzle clogs, head cleanings every few shirts and still not able to make ten shirts look the same. We recently did the belquette bagged ink conversion to it and all our problems went away...
  4. Discounts for Charities or Non-Profits??

We don't give discounts to charities or non profits. If they are really pushing sometimes we will throw in an upgrade to the product if it doesn't cost us much. It allows you to still make the full amount on the job and also makes it look like you are giving them something (even though it wasn't...
  5. Does this guy seem alittle odd?

Two things. First in regards to taking cash because of possible bad checks, you might want to check with your local law enforcement. Writing a bad check is a crime. In my area you can give a bad check you received to the sheriff's department and they will go after the person for you. Second...
  6. oval shaped magnets

We also have a laser that we use. Works great. We have the laser for another part of our business so its nice to be able to use it for the few odd shape magnet orders we get. Wouldn't be worth buying one just for cutting magnets but if you found a local place that had one you could probably get...

Has anybody used or know anything about the inks sold by Macroenter? http://www.macroenter.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=2854&Click=9055 They are having a 20% off sale with coupon code ULTRA until the 25th. That brings them down to $64.
  8. Office/Shop Phone Headset Advice... please, i'm in pain!

The best part is the price you can find uniden phones for on ebay and the fact that almost all their 5.8 ghz handsets and base stations are interchangeable. They may have a newer version now but their entire 5.8ghz line works great.
  9. Office/Shop Phone Headset Advice... please, i'm in pain!

uniden makes cordless phones with bluetooth in the handset. I think they have multiple models. I have one of these: http://uniden.com/products/productdetail.cfm?product=ELX500&page=5 It will work with pretty much any of their 5.8 ghz bases. I think they may have a DECT version also that works...
  10. Does anyone do engraving or used to?

We do engraving of plastic signs like that all the time. Your prices are way low. For that quantity and size we would probably be around $45 for the small ones and $65 for the large ones. How did you go from $8 to $35 for adding 6 inches to the length? Normally the larger it is the less per...

It is possible to print outdoor banners. We do it all the time. The problem compared to solvent...

It is possible to print outdoor banners. We do it all the time. The problem compared to solvent is the banner material is way more expensive and it scratches way to easy for a banner. It will fade quicker then solvent but should be fine for most temporary installations like 6 months and possibly...
  12. First Printer option?

Thats a good price. How much is the 60" and does it qualify for the $3000 cash back rebate HP is offering (http://www.hp.com/united-states/tradein/promo/designjet2/index.html?jumpid=re_R10931_go/DJEasyMoneyUpgrade)? I have a HP 5500UV 60" and have recently been getting a lot more requests for...
  13. HP5500 Ink

I use lexjet inks. I can't tell the difference between them and the HP inks. They are probably the only non hp inks i would consider using. I also use a lot of their media. They are a good company to deal with and our sales rep is very helpful.
  14. Changing dates on printed banners

I have a customer that is ordering 6 over the street printed banners and would like to change the date and location each year and use the banners for several years. They only go up for about a week per year. Normally I would just leave a black white spot for the date and put that on in vinyl so...
  15. RealTimeDesigner

Netsirk, I'm interested in RTD. I am curious how you get the start up fee to zero? I've been talking to Mike this week and I was told them minimum is $895. I know this thread is a couple months old so maybe it changed. Mike set me up with a demo on wednesday and I've only had a short time to...
