  1. Salesperson from large company trying to steal clients?

Do you have any way to verify that she actually lives in your town? That was probably a lie too. You should have gotten her business card... before throwing her out on her ear.

  3. Speaking of permits…

another example of how having too much money creates insanity? Who wants to take bets on how long it takes before there is a giant X on the moon?
  4. Better looking sign

Major improvement... But the pic looks like a mockup. The original monstrosity looks painted, but the improved version doesn't look real.what is it made from?

  9. Bubbles with metallic vinyl

Who doesn't have milk crates? They are so useful. I have a bunch of them at home. No idea how I acquired them though.
  10. Bubbles with metallic vinyl

Looks like it could be both. ....It started out as shame, and turned to rage. I'm a little surprised that using R-Tape didn't help. Are you going to try the Rapid Tac method?
  11. Bubbles with metallic vinyl

I was going to suggest using a laminator too, but I don't think she has one.

So the lettering really looks like that? I thought maybe you used Tex's phone to take that picture.
  14. Backlit, routed ACM

3mm ACM, and the Acrylic is 5/8" - we don't have a CNC router in-house, we send it down the street to our CNC guy (I can't answer those questions). We just finished moving it from the big table to another work table in another room, and having done that (it's really flimsy), we are going to try...
  15. Backlit, routed ACM

ours is going into a frame, an existing light box, . Admittedly, we don't normally do this type of signage, it's a first for me, but my role so far has been printing and sending cut files to the CNC guy, who has done this before. So he knew exactly what to do... though even he admitted he cut it...
  16. Are Overprint Fills really necessary?

Isn't checking the overprint box necessary for the spot color for printing white? ...or other "special" colors ... Not something the designer would know, it's a prepress thing.
  17. Backlit, routed ACM

Here are some pictures... Boss was just getting started as I was leaving. We dry fit the acrylic first, then he used a clear epoxy. Once it's set, we'll flip it over and apply the color.
  18. What happened here? Bubbling

Could be a few reasons..... https://www.signs101.com/threads/backlit-vinyl-bubbling-after-3-years.173393/ My first thought though - you mentioned that you use 3M 40C.... we stopped using the air egress removable clear for this very reason. It happened on two different signs, two different...
  19. Backlit, routed ACM

We are currently working on a project like this. The letters/logo are CNC cut out of ACM, then the letters/logo are CNC cut out of acrylic, but not all the way through, a thin portion is left on the back side. The letters will slide through the holes cut out of ACM, and that thin portion will be...
