  1. Suggestions New Flatbed Printer Suggestions

Digitech was out of our price range too, but Patrick and company there were awesome to speak to. I was definitely impressed with their offering, it just wasn't in the cards for us at that time.
  2. Best Practices for Creasing E-Flute Cardboard and 12/18pt Sheets

  3. Best Practices for Creasing E-Flute Cardboard and 12/18pt Sheets

Axyz doesn't have anything that's a double crease wheel. I've been using third party Eco-cam wheels as they've got a full set of rounded wheels that seem to be more forgiving on the SBS. I wrote them to see if they've got anything, but it's not on the website so I doubt it with getting...
  4. Hp Latex R2000 Plus Printhead Issues

Going through the same thing with our R2000. Our drop detector needed replacement. We got a new one installed, but didn't shim it correctly so it took a little tweaking to get right. We still have issues with our overcoat levels during cleanings and the banding it's producing during anything...
  5. Best Practices for Creasing E-Flute Cardboard and 12/18pt Sheets

Man I feel your pain. I bought a printer with bendable ink and the coatings on the paper will usually always crack, even with lamination on top for 180* turns. I've been told if you dial in your depths properly with the Colex you can have greater success, but on our AXYZ I've yet to make that...
  6. Question about the router on the Summa F series

I guess I'm hijacking, but I'm interested in info on the Apex machine line too. We have an AXYZ that's a much better router than knife cutter so we're looking for a dedicated knife based machine to cut and crease. Our AXYZ has a Tang knife so we're looking to add an oscillating cutter to this...
  7. News HP Latex R530

Is this the small format R2R printhead architecture? Looks like no cleaning station or intermediate tanks for ink delivery.
  8. R2000 plus w/WHITE printing fuzzy

Is the fuzziness in the axis direction of the head sweep? If it is I'd say your head height was too high. If not an alignment should fix that. Anything in the X-axis sweep of the head being too high is likely misaligning because of the bidirectional printing not lining up from an improper...
  9. Acrylic Varnish on Aqueous Canvas Prints?

Bob are you more concerned the Varnish will rewet the aqueous inks and make a mess?
  10. Question No room for cut marks on most boards, Workaround suggestions?

We scant sizes under too, but we definitely relay that info to the customers in our quoting. If they have to be exactly to sheet ratio dims then we just upcharge for the waste in yield in fitting a lot less per sheet. That price difference is usually enough to have our clients say, we can live...
  11. Question Scripts in Illustrator

I've got a lot of those too I've collected here and there. I use a crop marks script someone made ages ago that we really like too.
  12. Selling business - worth

Onboarding is probably going to be a sticking point. I bought a business I helped manage for years and we still did onboarding in the deal. Complete strangers or someone not in the sign world is likely going to need that and the warm handshake transitioning customers. Onboarding also means to...
  13. CNC Routing Software

We use V-carve from Vectric. I used to know flexi products and their shortcuts well years ago, but when I demo'd Enroute I couldn't make sense of the learning curve. V-carve is very simple and capable with lots of options in terms of your needs price/function wise.
  14. HP White Option

I have an HP R2000 and we honestly use white vinyl to flood second surface prints 9 times out of 10 Vs running it on the HP. We do more volume than smaller quantities so that should be noted. I do like the white on here, but I feel like this thing drinks white ink even on a mid level opacity...
  15. The annual question...how was business this year?

2024's been the best year we've ever had. Need to make a lot of changes for 2025 to grow and up production/capability for current demand. We do the bulk of our annual dollars from June-November. This year we're still busy in December and January is filling up. Traditionally we're slow from...
  16. Choosing a Dust Collector

If you can put on a temporary spoilboard you can always cover it in tile gasket for small parts. TG is made to be cut into ever so slightly. It does work really well to focus the broader vacuum coverage to a single hole and concentrate the hold down. As long as you're dilligent when you set...
  17. Choosing a Dust Collector

We're using V-carve pro for tooling our stuff. Most of my art is supplied in illustrator and we import AI/PDFs into V-carve to program all the tool pathing.
  18. Cnc machine question

I was impressed with the Shop Sabre line up, but support was a big worry on my end. I also wanted knife and vision. I wasn't sold that support for those items was going to be as good as we needed. For a dedicated router with a tool changer I think their stuff looks good from what I've seen.
  19. Mounting acrylic on acrylic and acrylic on drywall

Bron killer red tape is also brutally strong and thin. We use it for part to part assembly, but it's a lot more expensive per roll Vs the oracal 1375. It's just a different animal though.
  20. Mounting acrylic on acrylic and acrylic on drywall

We use Oracal 1375 all day long on our laser, the 1395 is even thicker which I'd prefer, but it's a bear to find a lot of times. Not sure I'd use that to mount to drywall, but it's excellent for flat/smooth surfaces.
