Rather than continue to work with this profile I decided to begin work on my own. That was an arduous task in itself thanks to one incorrectly ticked box (see here) (and thanks ColorCrest) but I was finally able to generate a new properly linearized profile capable of printing perfect gradients...
ColorCrest SignMeUpGraphics Hi all. Wow. Thanks for al the input and offers to check the profile. And yes we are printing two layers of white on a "print-ready" aluminum. This seemed odd when I first started but the difference in quality after printing the layers of white as a "primer" is very...
Pauly I was hopeful that your idea would work but unfortunately since I am using CMYK+Spot I think I am bound to the "CMYK+Spot" chart correct? I suppose I could go rogue and choose one of the others but I'm not sure what results i'd get. I noticed in Onyx that there is an option to print a...
Thanks to all who responded. FrankW The material is white powder coated aluminum. It is made specifically for printing and about as white as any premium glossy vinyl. Pauly and SignMeUpGraphics we are set up to scan each swatch twice but it is definitely NOT an issue with how the color is being...
We are attempting to create a new custom profile for a print-ready aluminum material using Onyx 18 Production House for our Oce Arizona 360 GT Flatbed Printer. We have completed all of the linearization, ink restriction, and ink limit steps without issue. We are currently working on printing and...
Ok. Thank you both for the helpful input. Here's where I'm at.
First: I tried relinearizing (aka recalibrating) in Onyx and it worked! After recalibration the hard line was 100% gone and the gradient faded perfectly. Unfortunately the recalibration also shifted the color just enough that it is...
I am having issues with a file that was created in InDesign and exported as a PDF 1.4 (see attached pics). The background is a blue gradient that fades from dark to light blue. The gradient was generated in InDesign. No matter how I save the file I am getting the same hard line in the gradient...
We are newly installing a Zund L3000 Digital Cutter and I am looking to smooth the transition with an advance copy of the manual. I have tried their site and google to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
We are receiving this new printer (Fujifilm Acuity Advance HS) in a few weeks and could use a copy of the manual in advance to guarantee a smooth transition. I have called and e-mailed fuji but no luck yet. I have also scoured google to no avail Any help is very much appreciated.
Just regular laminate. It was a recommendation by our vendor to eliminate small bubbles in between the acrylic and the print. It worked except now we have curved material.
Okay I have to come clean on this one. By "hot laminate process" what I really meant was we directed a heat gun at it while laminating (we have a cold mount pressure sensitive laminator). For the record I did not support this decision but the boss really wanted to get the job out. Now to get it...
Problem 1: We have applied graphics to the back of 5 24x36" cast acrylic sheets using a hot laminate process. After application the acrylic has begun to curve. Our attempts to flatten the pieces will work but only temporarily. Any suggestions?
Problem 2: Similar issue but with card stock...
Just the other day I had this plotter working using the windows driver from Corel OR using Roland CutStudio. Today, seemingly without any changes to the software or connections i am having a huge issue. As an example when i send a 6"x6" square from it will open in print preview or CutStudio as a...
Not gonna lie, these responses have me a little worried. Now obviously we do this type of work because we love it BUT love isn't going to pay my rent (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k5ooaufrLM). To give you an idea the average studio apartment (aka closet with a bed) in this area is $1200. I...
I have recently taken a job with a large union sign company (60+ people) in one of the largest cities on the East coast. I was hired to run 1 flatbed printer, 3 various wide format printers, and on occasion, 2 4ft plotters. The idea was that I would master those within a few months to become...
Just curious...are you using matte or gloss laminate? This shouldn't make a difference if it is truly just tracking incorrectly but it may have an effect on cut accuracy on long runs. Gloss laminate can often be problematic when cutting but there are workarounds to make it work.
HP FB910 User
I am an HP FB910 User (not owner) that has similar tales of frustration. Although...I am not ready to write-off this machine just yet. I have been working with the printer for nearly 3 months now and have had my share of daily headaches.
Some issues have proven to be operator...
Solution!
Forgetting that I had made this post this is what I eventually ended up doing and the problem was solved. Wish I had checked back sooner. Thanks for your response either way!
I am running a sheet-n-up print (quantity 3 24"x36" coro boards simultaneously) and the file WILL NOT SAVE to printer memory. We are printing 1000+ of these signs and I need to make it as easy as possible. Already tried rebooting printer and computer, replacing low ink, etc. Not sure what the...
