  1. Registration marks placed in print when trying to use FC9000 to cut

Thanks. Got it sorted. It was the communication between the PC and plotter. I set the plotter from Auto to GP-GL and it works fine now.
  2. Cropmarks move when using Barcode for FC 9000

Thanks. I just need to cut a number one after the other, so the barcode function is better for the job I am doing. I have been able to resolve the issue. I have changed the Graphics Language to GP-GL rather than Auto. That seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
  3. Registration marks placed in print when trying to use FC9000 to cut

Hi, I am using Flexi to print to my Roland VG machine. The problem I have is when I use the Graphtec Segment Area Type 2 registration marks they are outside the print. However if I use the barcode feature for 'Roll' so I can send it off to cut unattended, the registration marks are places...

  5. TrueVIS Ink end of life.

Hi, I have an SG 540 along with another older Roland printer. Both work fine and I have always used OEM inks since my first Roland SP540 back in 2003. However the company that does my maintenance has told me that the TR inks I have been using in my SG540 will no longer be supplied after the end...
  6. Seal 62 Base Laminator Technical Question

Hi, I have a Seal 62 Base laminator, which I have had for about 6 years now. Excellent machine thus far. However one of the the shafts that support the laminate at the highest point of the machine appear to be slightly bent. I have over the past few days been getting a slight wrinkle on the...
  7. Which Printer to Use?

Hi, I am printing on the Arlon SLX Cast Wrap materiel with Flite. I have 2 printers, a Roland SG540 and my trusty older VS540. My question is, which in is better for wrap material, the TrueVis or the EcoSol MAX ink? I have had slight milking issues with the TrueVis ink, but I would like to get...

  9. CE5000-60 Stopped Working Properly

Hi, Just came in this afternoon and wanted to use my CE5000-60 to cut a job. It had cut 3 job perfectly this morning before I left the office. 10. Roland Sign & Display vs Density Control

Hi, Can I ask what printer you are using please?
  11. Rant HP Latex 365 Frequent Head Crashes

Are the head strikes because the material is wrinkling? Do you leave the material in the machine when it is turned of or goes into sleep mode? The reason I ask this is I had a similar situation happen to me on my Roland machine when I inadvertently left material that had been heated up on the...

Would it be possible to send me a link to the VS 540 Service Manual please? Thanks, Neil tdgraphics@eircom.net
  13. Vs-540 Ink Cartridge Issue

Did your tech get the machine fixed? Was there any issue with the tubing? I have a similar problem with one of the Cyan inks. The right most cyan as you look from the front has a tenancy to run short of ink after a long print. Printed 12 meters of blue wrap and the next day started to print the...
  14. New Guy The 50-year-old Startup

It is best to try and find something that you can concentrate on as a revenue stream from the start. Are there many sign shops in your locality? Things like novelty decals, or other 'goodies' are well catered for by big companies. Are you in a large town were you can provide nice shop...

Great idea. I hope you don't mind, but I would love to copy the rack for the digital vinyl.
  17. Lease / Financing For Vehicle Wraps

One way is for a company to lease a vehicle through Avis Leasing or Sixt Leasing etc. These companies provide a complete package, the vehicle, the servicing, tires, graphics and internal racking fit outs etc and bundle it all into a series of monthly payments. We work with a number of leasing...
  18. Cut Vinyl graphics not sticking to customer's wall!!! Help!

Msrea, I believe the solution I use is pretty similar to most prep coats. The vinyl will remove from the wall and from my experience tends to pull the PVA film with the glue of the image. I have not removed a big mural, but I have tried a tester on my shop wall. It may need repainting after...
  19. Cut Vinyl graphics not sticking to customer's wall!!! Help!

I had a similar problem, a full 6 meter x 3 meter wall mural ended up in a pile on the floor. Turns out he paint was an anti graffiti paint. (it was not supposed to be when the project was discussed). Anyway I got round it by preparing the wall with a mix of PVA (wood glue) and water mixed...
  20. Why do greys print Purple

Did you get this sorted? Sometimes this can happen with Photoshop files as the grays are a blend of CMYK. If you use Illustrator you can use the preference (edit / Preferences / Appearance of Black) to Output all blacks as Rich Black. From my understanding this effects gary in that is uses...
