A failed trailing cable that has the intermittent motion activated when the carriage moves sounds like a good place to look.... the tube slapping the media looked very similar, but mine definitely had more smearing... those streaks look like the printheads firing, but in a tight line...

in looking at your pics again, and comparing to our 700w - the 2-3" marked area is in the same area (left to right) that ours was. good luck!

this may seem a little off, but we had a similar mark show up on our 700w prints... one of the tubes that feeds the heads had come a little loose and could form a loop that would slap the freshly printed media - and oddly in about the same location - like you see in your prints. The transfer...

... before loading media, if you put a very thin bit of silicone lubricant on the area where the adhesive builds up, you can save yourself the headache of cleaning it up afterward.... care must be takes to not get silicone lubricant on the rollers or anywhere where there should be friction...

I don't use Summas (nothing against, just got a Graphtec in a bundle...), However, if it allows the Perf-cut option (or similar with different name...) you should be able to cut posters all but perfectly.... for our Graphtec I set the down for almost an inch, then up for .04" but this "up" us...

interesting - I have not yet printed on the on the clearview, but I would think that the minimum vacuum needed to hold the media would be better than more... there used to be a product for guillotine cutter beds called Prisco Slide - this was a good silicone lubricant that you would wipe as...

oh, and I assume you guys have checked vacuum needed for this specific media (by running tests not from googling specs....) I have found when the media slips it can often be fixed by reducing the vacuum so it is just enough to keep media flat in the print zone. any more and it just causes more...

Why not attach the new media to a roll of old media on the take-up reel and then back up the media until the lead edge is barely past the print zone? make sure you have good heat resistant take to make to splice or you will have tape coming off in the curing zone.... but no need to waste more...
