Actually "technical knowledge about the way heads work" is exactly what I'm looking for. Where do I research that? I may never attempt a head swap but at least knowing how each head works and how it compares to the others would be helpful. For Instagram I just learned that the Ricoh heads...

I use them and have had all sorts of issues. Don't let them sit. Make sure you run the machine or clean them daily. Also don't trust the cheap replacement heads. They are just recycled heads from somebody else. Good luck!
