The support structure is made from Octanorm - an extruded aluminum system metal. We build all of our structures out of it. The parts break down into sections and can be reconfigured into just about any shape.
The aluminum pieces have a lock and groove system and the parts break down into sections which can be reconfigured into just about any shape. It works great - we have all of the octanorm shapes, lengths, and sizes we have in our inventory modelled in the 3D design program we use (Sketchup) so when we want to build something, we can configure the structure completely in Sketchup before we ever start building. Parts we used for a display one week can be used for an entirely different project the next week.
Sometimes they are permanent, but usually just temporary. For this one, it was only used for one day.
