4 Damper Use

Hi has anyone ever used only 4 dampers on their Mimaki CJV30 , with CMYK colours?
My yellow and cyan is mixing and I took the one cyan damper out and blocked the line to it , and the printer is running fine.. I know it's a risk to use it like that, but I have done it with a previous head that was damaged and the new second hand head is mixing the cyan and yellow a little bit.
It's not that I want to run only on 4 dampers, I am just asking for interestsake if it is possible to do so.

Once the ink in the head runs out, you'll only be firing 4 channels so the color and saturation of your prints will change. Firing the nozzles without ink will most likely damage the piezo crystals but if you're not using them, I guess it's not a problem. If it works for you and saves you some money, why not?

so feeding 2 channels with one hose?
might be a risk of ink starvation.

does mimaki give you the choice of small dampers/large dampers like Roland does?
I love a good workaround but would like to make it as foolproof as possible
