A lot of light pink mist

I feel like a have the answer but just wanted to run it by real quick. I’m getting a lot of magenta mist around all my prints and even on my media hold down on my xc-540. The test prints all look relatively good. I just replaced my light magenta head about a month ago. I have never replaced my magenta head since I bought the printer 3 or so years ago and it was used. Here are a few test prints when I was adjusting the head to try and turn it in a bit. I’m guessing it is the magenta head that need replaced.

Most likely your magenta head is going. Run the fill test in service mode and especially look at the edges.

It's probably the head unfortunately. These heads can fire multiple sized dots. The nozzle check only fires the largest one but most color profiles use variable dot. So that's why your nozzle check can look perfect but still have issues. You could try new head cables and clearing out the terminals where they plug into with air duster. Sometimes that will do the trick with this kind of issue. I can't remember on these older Roalnds but on ones newer than it, if you run the nozzle check in service mode, it will print the smaller dots and you can confirm my theory if the small dot section looks messed up.

I did run the fill pattern awhile back for another issue and the edges were very misted. As I said I figured that was the issue but just wanted a second look. It’s super old head from the looks of it anyways. Appreciate the replies

They do run a smaller dot pattern but everthing looks how it should except when a do a bi linear calibration. When the head is in the high mode those magenta lines are super squiggly.

Did you replace the dampers and o-rings at the same time with Roland brand dampers (sorry folks, the cheapo dampers do not work correctly)
yes, reseat all of the short and long cables on the Print Carriage Board and the Head Board, static can build up and cause exactly this In your pictures.
The fill test should have good, sharp edges.

I have not replaced the head yet, the head came with the machine when I bought it 3 or so years ago. I have ordered a new head but I will try any suggestions to see if I can alleviate the issue without replacing the head

Check the shot count.
Replace the head, dampers and o-rings.
