Anodized Aluminum

Can you print with uvprinter (roland lef20,Mimaki UJF-3042)
on Poroseal or DuraJet or any other open-pore aluminum
and close the pores afterward.
or should I "turn off" uv lamp on the printer
or how do you make them stylish anodized aluminum signs

I cannot help, but perhaps the printer dealer could tell you if they can do it, or how they are done. (If nobody here helps...)

Help

There is anodized aluminum that has open pores.
As you can print, then you put them in boiling water for a time
then, close the pores. Then the aluminum sheet where the color is inside the sheet and thus it becomes scratch resistant.
I have not found the printer is to be used
Can I use a UV printer, or it is something else. Plates which I found is Poroseal or DuraJet
but there might be other plates as well, feel free to tell us.
We are new in this branch and we will invest in a printer
for promotional gift and Signs
Having looked at Roland lef20, Mimaki UJF-6042, Logojet, and others. You may also give some suggestions and Feedback on the printer, we should invest in.


When I found this forum, I was so happy saw that there were so many members, thinking that this will be easy to get answers to all questions.
But after a few records, I see that not many are intresera of help.
My market is in Sweden, so I think I do not stomp any toes.

Not really sure but this sounds exactly how they make Metal Photo plates but instead of printing on them you burn them with a film negative? Maybe you should look into that?

We do this by screenprinting the pigments onto the unsealead anodized aluminum. Once sealed you wipe off the remainding carrier and your done.

You end up with a product that is virtualy identical to a metal photo plate.

I don't think you'll find a printer that has the proper inks to acheive this.
