Anyone familiar with reverting a DTF printer mimaki jv300-160 back to solvent normal?

I have Mimaki jv-300 160 that was dtf based printer that the previous owner turned into a DTF as soon as he purchased it new. Now I want to turn the printer back into a ecosolvent based printer but I'm running into problems like clogged ink lines and head. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this scenario or if anyone knows what I can use to unclog and clean the ink pipelines and the head aswell. I would appreciate any sort of advice for this process.

my guess is you will have to replace ink lines and print head going from waterbased to solvent inks but maybe flushing everything with solvent cleaning solution thoroughly might be enough

i would call dave callender
he was one of the first to convent aqueous printers to solvent years ago
he has always been very helpful when i had a question (not just if he could sell me something

you will be converting from a different base chemistry than we used to but dave is a wealth of knowledge on this sort of thing

You might need to replace all the lines, dampers and head

You can try to flush it.
-buy some bulk dtf cleaning solution and you’ll want to pull it through the system. I’d think the ideal way would be to put all the ink lines on the cartridge end together and stick them in a jar of solution and then pull with a syringe from the capping station
-if you can spring for mimaki cleaning cartridges that’s even better as you just insert them and run a bunch of ink fills

-eventually you’ll switch to solvent cleaner and pull that through.
-then you can switch to solvent ink and try and fill it

I’d say that you should at least replace the dampers before you fill it with solvent ink though. That being said you still might need to replace the head.

Anyways, good luck. There are some old threads on here on converting from dye sub to solvent and it’s the same process
