Anyone running UCJV330 with dual CMYK?

Looking to upgrade from our UJV100-160 which is setup as dual CMYK.
We have no need for white/clear/etc and want the speed.
We run ONYX as our primary RIP and looking for feedback opinions on this machine.

Thank you!

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Setup lots of 330 series machines, never seen a UCJV330 in dual CMYK mode. However, a TS330 with that setup was wicked quick. Similar heads, just one was the aqueous version of the i3200 versus the UV version. The specs page from Mimaki covers the sqft/hr for each setup and is decently accurate.

Any reason you need to use UV if you're not using white or clear? If you want speed and quality and there's no other reason to use UV, get the CJV330.

I prefer UV inks for durability, LUS170 is great for not needing laminating in my experience. Though, we run UV for everything, lower maintenance is nice too.
Good points. I'd also add that solvent inks aren't exactly healthy to be around so much especially without proper ventilation. That being said, if speed is the main goal, the CJV330 is over double the speed and costs about $12k less. So it just depends on the top priority.

We already have a JV300-160 running dual CMYK solver that runs mostly wraps, window clings and small detail oriented work.

The reason we need a UV is that our current UJV100-160 handles all our banner and poster work, plus down and dirty stuff that doesn’t need lamination. We also run a ton of double sided banners, we print the fronts on the Mimaki, then cut down and back up individually on our Vanguard flatbed. So we need UV ink to match the output on the Vanguard.

I’ve always been happy with the output on our UJV100-160 but we typically upgrade machines after about 3 years to keep up with technology and minimize the nickle-and-dime maintenance as a printer ages.

I have looked at the Colorados and they seem like a nice machine, but not 100% sold on their double sided printing abilities after talking to a Canon tech. Sure, it can be done but some limitations that don’t make sense for the price point.
