Anyone work with Devoe Paints?

I am asking for a friend in the biz who was spec'd to use this paint and rolled it onto a premium crezone plywood and now he is getting an orange peel look to the paint.
I don't know any other details but wonder if this paint is not meant to be rolled or applied to wood?
