Arcing Objects over text

I need to arc 7 stars over the top of some text. For the life of me I can't find the answer in the book. I know with text you just fit to path but that option is not available for objects.

Draw a circle and place the stars where you want them . . . Seriously, come on . . . !

Draw a circle or oval. Draw a star and position it where you want it in relation to the arc. Then do that 6 more times rotating as needed.

Rep. I know that will work but instead of messing around with alignment of each star, I figured there might be a tool like FIT TEXT TO PATH that shortens the steps taken to achieve the same outcome.
