Banners scratching all of a sudden

Graphic Extremes

Knows To Little
So I print a banner as usual using the same material as usual, let off gas for 24 hours minimum. Banner material is off the same roll I was using before. The ink for some reason will show rub marks even if I put ink to ink by folding the banner face to face. I have never had this happen before. Any ideas on why this started happening.

Never have done it before but should I be laminating the banner.. Crazy question I know.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

but, as victor said, the issue would be one of adhesion. (I WILL GIVE SEM CLEARCOAT A TRY THOUGH! i have never found a liquid laminate i liked

Off a roll that was previously successful?
How old is the roll?
It's likely gone bad if it's over a year since you last used it, plastisizer migration or what have ya. Load, run out excess material, clean with alcohol, roll back, and see if the cleaned region has better adhesion. If it does, toss the roll and order a new one.
