Best substrate for back lit sign?

I need to make a 3' x 8' sign for a local bike shop that will go into an existing sign structure... the current structure is backlit so I am looking for advice on what substrate to use. The design calls for a white background and a blue black and red logo.

Suggestions? Is there a substrate that is white but made for backlighting that I can then just apply cut vinyl to? Would I use translucent vinyl or just a regular vinyl?

Translucent vinyl applied to acrylic or polycarbonate.

If single sided I would use White Acrylic. If double sided you should consider a White Pan Face.
