Does anyone know of any good brochure design (layout) books?
I'm looking for a little inspiration.

Thanks in advance

PS
Any other books we can list would also be great for future readers.

If you're looking for pure eye-candy for inspiration look at any of THE BEST OF BROCHURE DESIGN books.

You can usually pick them up on Amazon for about $10.

If you want a little more of a strategic approach try this one
Brochures: Making a Strong Impression: 85 Strategies for Message-Driven Design

Now comes the part where Rick bombards us all with thirty five titles, and reviews, and will ultimately be shown to be EXACT in his descriptions. The man has absorbed every tidbit of information from every design book ever written. I hate him so very much.

Thanks Pat - I was looking at THE BEST OF BROCHURE DESIGN earlier today there was some great stuff in the one I was looking at but it was on the higher end of things - I needed something more in my customers budget if you know what I mean :Big Laugh

I'll have to check out the other one.

I'm sure Rick will be posting the list of lists
I can't wait :clapping:

One question...

What type of brochures? The single page type mailers most small business and sign shops use or the nice multi-page ones?

See! He's got so many suggestions you've got to narrow it down.

Tell me about it :ROFLMAO:

Rick for this project Tri-Fold but please feel free to share your wisdom:thumb:
I wish it was a saddle stitch multi page one.. I could have fun with that.

Well, there was a reason I asked... I don't know why, but there is no book that is specifically low end brochure (tri-fold, single fold or page type), postcard or business flyer design. I was involved in a discussion about this about 2 years ago with a group of designers, they were just as surprised.

I have books that feature a couple of very well designed brochures, but they are so design heavy, they would be considered high end. (Old House Industries brochures and French Paper inserts in How, Print and Communication Arts magazines come to mind)

Google has a lot of options but I have sent a few people to this site....

Rick thank you - I kind of figured there wouldn't be all that much on this type of brochure. I'll have to check out the link you posted and I totally forgot about House Industries they have some good stuff.

Thanks again
