sry chris say invalid filetype...im in the stone ages with X3 - perhaps it was created in X5? hopefully tim can help ya out

shouldnt make a diff X3 or X5. cdr, from corel V3 is still workable in X5.

you can open v3 in X5, but i doubt they are backwards compatible OP - can you open an X3 file in v3? doubt it

Yep, it needed X5 to open. I had X4 installed, and I had the disk for X5, but I just hadn't needed to install it (until now). Great excuse for me to do the upgrade anyhow.

Nope! (at least I couldn't, and that doesn't mean much!! ). When I run into these issues, I simply go ahead and buy the latest version. Why not?!!!
