Changeable easel "specials" signs

I have clients with a little shop back in a corner of a shopping center, and they are looking for a way to attract more looks when folks are driving by. They originally asked me to make them a life size stand up cut out of a baker holding an arrow sign, with one of the owners faces placed on it, but after we discussed costs and practicality, we went with this idea. I made these "Specials" signs with changeable panels to put on an easel out on the sidewalk. Now, the property management is real tight there, so what else could we do for this shop that wont get them in trouble? I'm open for suggestions!

Wow, the property management company won't let them put an easel in front of their store? Sheesh. We use A-frames with coroplast signs velcroed to the front, and let them write their special with dry erase. Dry erase laminate, etc.

Yes, an easel is one of the things they CAN get away with, and we couldnt think of much else...
They had a dry erase board, but none of them felt confident enough to write nicely on it, so then they were taping stenciled letters to it in rainbow colors, hah!

I think it's too late but if ever special was a different color, it might have helped... once people have read the sign once, it might be easy for most people to ignore after that...
I would think a starburst shape that exceeds the perimeter of the main sign, in a bright yellow might be good... even with the fact that you have several identical "specials" signs which I'm concerned about... maybe a "L@@K" sign on the starburst... and maybe 5 color coded flags, and a colored stripe somehow added to each of the special signs...

red flag for the bagel special with the red strip, yellow flag for the bacon special with the yellow strip...

so, for the not-yet-a-customer folks... different sign every day will finally get their attention... and for the regulars... yeah, maybe I can drive by a yellow flag... BUT HEY!!! L@@K!!! RED FLAG!!!!
IT'S BACON DAY!!!! LET'S EAT!!!

Well thats do-able , Doug , I could add something like that. These folks are totally open to whatever, and everytime they ask me to do something for them, it's like "ok, here's a general idea - run with it and let us know how much it will be when you're done!"
Thanks for the idea!

Don't mean any disrespect and I'm curious, is there a right or wrong way to place the $ sign? I have always gone like this $5 but I have seen it as Auto used it here 5$. Just wondering. Is it personal preference?

Farmboy - You know, that's a great question! I just kinda flung it in there without much thought. If it was a menu board, say, I would have put it on the left...

Hey, Please take this as a very well intended heads up, cause I'm no literature major, and may even be wrong.... but I think it's supposed to be "Bagelicious", with the "i" in there.

Just wanted you to be prepared if the customer gripes later. They shouldn't - really doesnt matter.

Good luck on your new gig too. I'm jealous!

Good catch John.
Damn that's twice I've done that now. First time I fixed it before it went out the door.I'm on the phone with the client right now. Dont want them putting that out front like that.
Thanks

Edit- The client got a big laugh out of it! He didnt even catch it! He wants to put it out anyway to see how many people notice!
