Need Help Changing main board - XC540

Hello everybody
I need to change my xc540 mainboard.
I have a used XJ640 mainboard that has been checked.
I saved the XC540 settings using the Peck5 tool, but now when I try to transfer the data to the newly installed card, I get the message "failed to connect".
Could a kind soul help me ?

Flash firmware first
Tooks about minute, if peck says wtf - choose force flash firmware anyway
Then upload back thru peck, may be will need to switch dip on board
If u can't, pick get report to see what ip adress was in that board, reconigure your ethernet settings and try again
Can simply use cmd in windows - terminal
In opened black window type
ping - /here ip adress you need to ping/ (example ping -128.0.0.1)and press enter, if youll get response everything OK if connection timed out no go always just reboot pc and printer before trying again and again, theese are old devices - don't rush
Can use in cmd terminal command arp -a to list all devices on network segment, turn of printer and run arp -a again to see what's changed
Or with subpower off enter service mode to see/change settings for ip connection

Check the DIP switch in the board and set it correctly. Do a parameter init and then set the network parameters. Then you can access it via the peck tool to restore the machine parameters.

What is DIP and how do I access it?
Can't I just see the congig IP address through the service menu?

dip switches are tiny switches (you change the setting by moving the position of the switch with a point of a pen, or a tooth pick.
you will need a service manual, and have to be careful. you don't want to blow up a $2000-$3000 system board

For the XC540 you need set all 8 DIP switches to OFF. The switches are located here :

Once you set those the printer model should come up as XC540 when you turn it on, you can then access the board Peck, but will still need to set up things like the alignments and calibration

Ok I had already checked the XJ DIP switch settings by comparing them with the XC board, and they were in the same position.
Back to square one.

And when you say the board was checked, who checked it? it could possibly be faulty and they just checked it turned on and test printed without trying to send an actual job to it.

Hi damon, it come up XJ640 and i want to put it on an XC540
maybe you're right and the mainboard was not checked properly (check by industrial electronic circuit repairer).

Are you sure the switches are all off and not all on? The model name should change depending on what you have them set to
I doubt an industrial electronic repairer would know enough about Roland printers and the board specifics. They could tell if a board was blown, but without the rest of the printer to fit it to then they wouldn't know if it was operating correctly

whoever "checked" the board probably has a huntron tracker (or whatever the current technology is for troubleshooting a dead circuit board )
there is a lot to be said for a company like that when your board goes dead, but, they generally do not have the capacity to do a FULL RELIABLE TEST.
i have used this kind of company many times over the years, but, once the board lights the display they may feel their job is done.

keep this in mind when comparing their repair price to purchasing a new replacement board.

I have all these boards brand new out of box from roland for old models and sell for price 600 euros while they are in stock (price ehat i costed to us from roland) because in our country all buy at digiprint
But i ship EU only

You still need to update the firmware and then initialize the limit.

All the DIP switch settings are off, for sure...
i got the 4.70 firmware on the xc540 so is up to date
concerning initialize limit, it start to do it but stop when the carriage start to move...
the situation is block..
