Hi

Any recommendations for the best CNC router to buy to start off with for cutting sheets of dibond and pvc into various shapes.

Just want something smallish to start off with.

Any tips welcome.

Thank you

Budget £2500 - would also be open to buy second hand to start with

Would want to cut shapes out up to largest A3 size to start with. But if there is something slightly bigger within budget that was good I'd go for it, save me upgrading as soon.

That's going to fall into the 'engraver' category of commercial CNC machines. You could either pick up a hobby machine to play around with or find a used engraver in that budget/footprint. I'd recommend going up to a 4'x4' if you have the area for it, there you will find a lot more capable machines with spindles measuring in HP vs watts.
But really, what are you aiming to cut with it? Metal, wood, plastic?

i have a quote sitting in front of me for $150k for my next cnc router.
just bought a used 5'x12' for $30k that's a twin to my current workhorse of 20years that we bought for $80k

the spindle alone on a commercial cnc router is over $6k.

Im building a 1kw fibre laser almost finished, People dont release building your own CNC router is very very time consuming especially new builds, there is so much work involved, wiring, mechanics, parameters, testing, screws, bolts, cable management, proxy sensors spindles soldering

It takes many months for new ones to get made, what you seen people on YouTube is all edited they never mention that it took them months to build them, even the kits from China takes ages ive just finished building the OXMAN CNC With Delta servos for the new fibre laser
