Could not be more dissappointed in LEXJET

Not generally a big review person, but felt the need to share the short version of my nightmare. Bought an Epson 80600s, Summa S Series and a laminator from them a year and a half ago and still have not been able to cut a sticker I can sell. In fairness, my troubleshooting has been sporadic, give we are unable to dedicated countless hours to dialing in a machine that should not be struggling this much to match up cut lines and print via registration marks, but I digress.

Setup seemed to be a breeze, so much so, that I felt completely untrained once our installer, left our place(sure I can take ownership on this slightly) but I am beginning to think he could have stay 2 months and our cutter is just notcutting in the way it should be. I have spoke with Lexjet countless times, ran troubleshoot for them countless hours and none of the videos are getting me to a point where the cuts are occuring where they should. Of course it was the day before the installer arrived that I found out I needed wifi in the building and I was informed by them that my verzion business internet was not going to be enough, delaying the install a few weeks and then once they arrived it was then that I found out that there would be no training on setting up the laminator. I have done flatbed printing for 2 decades, but have never done roll to roll printing, cutting or laminating. I just felt if you are going to sell a machine and say you are going to offer a couple days of training then be sure you are able to train on all equipment.

We have now exhausted all videos of training that summa and lexjet have sent my way and kiss cuts are still off from the artwork. One person on signs101 said they dealt with this and they ended up tracing the issue tot he printer! I do not feel this is the case, but something is causing my cuts to be off. Lexjet has now gone over two weeks with no response and I am assuming because I told them they need to get a tech to our site at no cost and get the cutter dialed in or send me another one. They have apparently washed their hands of this. Not wanting to badmouth anyone but since they are not longer responding and not willing to solve this issue since afterall they already got their money, I need to find a reputable company that can help...and I will need to pursue matter with Lexjet in alternate ways.

Print your file on another printer and try cutting in your cutter to see if the printer might be the problem and vice versa, print something on your printer and try cutting on a different cutter

Victor no doubt a good idea but this is the only printer and cutter I have, thanks for responding

is it that you do not understand the process, and the SHORTCOMINGS inherent in this type of process?
firesprint posted something recently, pointing out that EVERY print & cut job had a bit of error in it, and this can be compensated for by proper design

Keep in mind, no one can expect to purchase a print & cut system, walk up to it & have the first job perfect

it is more of an art than a science

Agreed. You'll get more help here than from a "one and done" dealer any day as long as you can properly explain what's happening.

We have a S60600 and (older) Summa S140T and cuts are bang on, as long as job length isn't too crazy.

Post more information about what you're trying to do, how you're trying to do it, and exactly what results you're getting that you aren't satisfied with.

Not sure how far you are into Indiana, but if you're decently close to Cincinnati Ohio, give Trigon Imaging a call. They sell and service the above products and could get you going correctly if the kind folks here cannot solve your issues.
We currently use Epson printers, Onyx RIP, and Graphtec plotters (we purchased through them) and ours print/cut GREAT.

Where in Indiana are you located? If/when I'm in the area, I'll swing by and teach you how to run the laminator and maybe provide a 2nd set of eyes on your print/cut problems.

Wow, thanks everyone...yeah images would definately help and I have plenty. Let me get that data together and then I will get it posted on here. You guys are all really awesome, and I appreciate all the offers to help out.

I will also attach some images. I have included another circle similar to the ones in the video and then I also attached a rectangle and on the rectangle I have gone back to the Illustrator file and the kiss cut was aligned perfectly in the art do again I am not sure why there is more art bleeding out the bottom vs on the top.
I have a secondary problem with my newest file where for whatever reason the kiss cut appears to be cutting once in one direction and then cuts the same path in the ooposite direction. Then when it does the perf flex cut it does it once and then cuts it again and removes all the perf tabs and the stickers then basically falls out and in some cases jams the cutter. I have gone back and checked the design file in illustrator, spot color is good, stroke is at .1 pt, this one has me scratching my head and it is doing it on the rectangular sticker you see in the images attached. Should also say that i have tried it with the middle pinch rollers down and with them up. Also I should mention overall the issues seem to be in the middle by the middle pinch rollers and towards the outside rollers the cuts seem better

Post more information about what you're trying to do, how you're trying to do it, and exactly what results you're getting that you aren't satisfied with.

Watched video, Can you add additional registration marks on the width of the roll? I know on my Graphtec I need more registration marks than that and use the XY segmented area marks

Thin borders on round stickers can be a pain

Do you have it set on default speeds? Slow it completely down from cutter control and see how it affects that. You can also print multiple rows at a time so it's easier to test. You could have had maybe 4 rows on that piece of vinyl.

For the double cut. If you didn't change any settings then your file is faulty.

If it's checking the black line with the marks then you already have it set for OPOS XY which is accurate enough.

And check your print with a straight edge just to see that what you are after for. If it's not straight to begin with then the cutter needs to compensate. That makes things more complicated on long runs.
