Crazy wind yesterday - thought I'd have the day off.

5x8 wooden sign ready to do some damage. Thankfully not a ton of people walking around because of Spring Break, but enough older folks walking by (very slowly) 20-30ft downwind of this sign. That really had us nervous.

Gusts 50-55mph during this removal (peak of 65mph yesterday). Perhaps not the most dangerous removal out there, but it's not my idea of fun lift work either. Managed to get some ratchet straps around it for a handle, toss a rope over that bar to support it, then grind that bolt off and hope for the best. It worked, but was a bit scary.

Side note: That sign is 50 years old (original sign). It's fallen and taken out that plate glass window in the past (DIY install, not mine). It's beyond repair this time. Banged itself against that wall for several hours before we could get it down. Client wants me to replicate the old sign while retaining much of it's "old/weathered" appearance (plywood and paint). I don't about all that, but well see.

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Yesterday's wind was nuts out here in OKC, lots of blown out lightbox signs around here. Looks like you got your work cut out for you.

As for Eskimo Joe's, I did a sample for them a year or two ago, printed a table a while back. The other prints are all stickers, mine is the only direct print.

Ah. Nice!

I haven’t done too much work for them - just the occasional request for unusual / custom projects. Come to think of it, I have a lot of clients like that.

I think EJ uses a marketing agency out of Tulsa and gets most things through Meeks. (Or maybe Meeks is the agency too?). I don’t know much about Meeks other than they’re a large company that could always beat my wrap quotes by 15-20%. Granted, I’m a small fish.

I just know a guy who knows a guy, printing tables seemed like it could be pretty lucrative. UV ink holds up well and you can varnish the crap out of it. But most of my time is spent fixing printers now, so maybe I'll stick with that.

Winds were just as bad down here in TX. Had my guy out on an emergency call this weekend and calls kept coming in today

We had some crazy wind in Kentucky, for us at least. I was the bonehead who had their trampoline hit their house. No sign calls today, but I would be lying if I said I didn't drive to town at lunch time and look at a couple of swinging signs to see how they were doing.

Another corner came loose. It was the letter I. I check on it weekly. Sunday it was in the mid 70's. Monday it snowed 2". Supposed to be in the 80's by the weekend. But,but, but climate change ain't real. It's a hoax. Weather around here is outside the norm of what it's been in my lifetime.

i always say, nothing gives an OLD AND WEATHERED appearance like beating the damn thing against a brick wall for a few hours
what more do they want?
