Curious About This Finish

I ran across this guys website in Colorado and he does some really nice work. He produces an "Oil Rubbed Finish" on some of his signs and it looks really cool. I know he is carving with a CNC then, applying this finish afterward. Does any one know what the process is or the product used to apply to the sign?

I've seen it on a website but I can't find it. Check with Grampa Dan. He does stuff like that.

Looks like LuminOre to me. It's like metal paint. Pretty cool.

Sophistocated Finishes has something similar, but much less expensive. The effect isn't as good as LuminOre, but if you're good at faux finishing and combine a few colors you can get an extremely nice finish with it.

This guy does a lot of really neat stuff but this whole process got my attention. I thought it would be pretty bold of me to call him up and ask how he does it. I know that would piss me off.

Looks like LuminOre to me, too. He does say it's a metal finish that he rubs and polishes to obtain the final look.

Have a look around the smooth on site. Here is a link to cating an oil rubbed bronze plaque. I can't see why you couldn't apply a size and then sprinkle on the bronze powder.
