Dead Printer?

Hi there I have an old HP Designjet T2300 postscript eMFP. Completely Dead. Nothing. Was working fine, went to print something about 2 weeks later and nothing, screen completely blank.
Because of its age it's not worth spending any real $$$ on. I just didn't want to bin it if was something stupid (like a fuse, as far as I can tell it doesn't have one).
Any thoughts advice much appreciated.
thanks Simon

It appears there are 2 sets of status lights that indicate the condition of power supply and the state of system board. Should get you pretty far into the process

Thanks. Yes I can see the status lights (not working). Crazy as it seems, In the whole service manual it does not mention the word "fuse" once. ta Simon

I will have time later to review the manual a bit, but, this will not be a change the fuse situation.
my guess would be you wil” end up replacing the power supply.

before you do, it would be worth taking the power supply out of the machine &removing the covers.
you will most likely find the fuse(s) there as well as a couple thousand electronic components.
if you go to harbor freight or Walmart you can buy a digital meter for about $12. You can test fuses as well as doing a visual inspection of the power supply, looking for burned components and “ ringed” solder connections

That might need to be repaired at a “tv repair shop” if such things exist anymore

My best suggestion would be, if nothing lights, buy a replacement power supply.
even those of us who are qualified tondo that type of repair rarely have success.
the service manual ASSUMES troubleshooting end with replacement of a circuit board.
hp has the circuit drawings for board level repair (changing components) but they do not provide them.

So, you can order the power supply & consider buying a good surge protector (the kind copier companies install) as future protection.

i realize this is not a good place for you to order, but, gives you an idea of what the price is

less than the price of 2 ink cartridges

Thanks Netsol. Sorry can't find your real name (you can on print planet! Fyi. my go to for more general print rather than signage).
All fantastic advice. (You have gone to a lot of trouble:). I just have to careful not to spend too much $$$ as this printer is old. Yes, I agree Probarley need to ascertain if it's the power supply before I do much else.
thanks again. Simon
