I have taken some classes from him at sign shows in the past. Always a great instructor and person. I loved going to the Las Vegas and Long Beach shows to take classes, see the new equipment and...SAMPLES

He developed Frog juice
I have no idea what Butch used to make "Frog Juice", but for years I have been using my own concoction of clear acrylic enamel mixed with a small amount of Armor All (a widely available placticizer using poly-dimethylsiloxane (PDMS), a type of siloxane and silicone oil, as a main ingredient) and a few drops of "fish eye remover". Butch found dozens of ways to use Frog Juice, and happily championed his product and demonstrated his product whenever he had a chance. He was a great guy, a talented sign painter, and an avid sportsman. I always looked forward to seeing him at sign shows and conventions. He will be missed and remembered!

He was a blast to be around. took his seminar twice and saw him a couple more times at trade shows. I used to be a pretty good 'spitter of the water' to get the wet look and a pretty good 'crumpler of the vinyl' to get the marble look, and the Yellow-Orange-Red sunset fade. Thanks Butch, I didn't even know you was old.

Saw him one time at a open house at Tubelite 20 something years ago showing how to use corex by cutting halfway and bending for desk displays. He reminded me of the old vegimatic salesman from the 50s on TV.

Yep, RIP my old friend. Saw him at Atlantic city many times. We emailed back & forth for years even when he had his bout with throat cancer. I asked where he got the name for his Norwegian paint style ?? He said he was demonstrating someplace and someone in the crowd asked it and on the spot, he made up the name. He said that's my background so........ whadafug ??
I still have several cans of frog juice in my paint room.
