Direct UV print to backlit washed out when lit.

I'm having issues printing direct to a backlit material (blitsol) with my Colorado 1650. Every time we print on the backlit material and shine the light behind it it looks washed out. Does it need to be double hit like I've seen on some other posts? Do I need to print a layer of white behind it to avoid wash out? Anybody have any experience printing backlit material with a 1650?

image > white layer > image is standard, even on white trans. unless you want to make the panel the white layer and print images on either-side of the substrate, but that would require alignment when you flip the panel.
