I come up without an exact match and suspect someone has tinkered with it.
It is definitely a Slab Serif but not in any of my books or databases. The closest I can come are something that started out as Egyptian or Egyptienne. See examples:
Another thing that threw me Fred was that the bottom of the "U" seems flat. Isn't it funny that in the old days it didn't matter but now we have computers everything has to be perfect!!
The "U" was a letter I ran on its own against my database and there was no match at all. My conclusion is that it has been modified .... and not for the better I might add.
