Drive-thru speaker/headset system?

Great... installing an illuminated drive-thru sign and interior menu on MONDAY and they're opening WEDNESDAY and just NOW my client tells me that the drive-thru speaker system from the old restaurant (that they told me they HAD) was recently taken by the previous owner.

anyone know where to purchase something like this? google turns up options that seem too pricey ($1k+) for a simple 2way speaker and microphone/headset setup.

taking a drive to radioshack to see if they've got options for me, but figured I'd post this in case there's a supplier that I might not be coming across via google searches.

o man, if only I could just limit myself to "sign making"...
speaking of, i'm about a few months past due updating the thread on my life-sized tonka truck... all made of aluminum, sintra, vinyl graphics and paint! made four "Brio" trains too with built-in puzzles/games for the kids to play with.

Had a customer a few years back looking a new system like you speak of. Once we started talking of the prices I was quoted, we started to look at different options and I think the company was mainstreet (I think, it's been years). Salty stuff I can not believe the cost of that stuff, even a simple 2way system.

called a local guy, ClearCom Inc. Got the intercom system shipping here as we speak, hands-free with weatherproof/tamperproof speaker box for under $700!

and no, I will not be marketing drive-thru menus anytime soon but it sure is nice to chalk another gold star up on the "good-service" board. as a custom sign shop, we don't exactly enjoy saying "NO" to additions to project orders.
