Drying Maroon enamel

Been a while since I've used one shot maroon on a panel, but it's been a couple days and there is still some tack. I didn't add any drier, just a tad of low temp reducer. Looks like a no sun day today, perhaps we might see some rain.

Could be several things.

Old paint
What speed reducer ?? Was that also old ??
Contaminated.
Was it sprayed or brushed on ??
If there was a thick skin, the drying agents could've been used up.

It’s been a while since I’ve used one shot maroon also. But I remember an order of carved sign foam 6’ ovals. They took three days to dry and even then seemed soft. I’m in New England and it was January. I figured it was the weather.
The signs held up great. Although a corporation bought out the businesses and I got to do all new signs with new logos. I was glad it was dark blue this time.

Try painting a base coat of white enamel then coat with maroon the next day. This has alleviated the issue for me, hopefully you will get the same results.
