emailed files from macs, always get 2

Does anyone else suffer from receiving emails with files from Macs and you get 2 same named files only they are different sizes? It drives me crazy!!!! It used to be that the larger file was the good one but now it seems it can be either. The problem I have is that I can only open cs1 and up in my networked computer across the room and I print from there. So for instance I am in the middle of printing and I go over there and try to open the file and I get a incorrect format so I know I downloaded the wrong version of the file. I go back to the main comp but it wont let me overwrite the file as Flexi on the other computer seems to be using it, for what I have no idea. I go back to the other computer and hit new file in flexi hoping it releases it but no, it wont. So I basically think I have to shut flexi down to release it but I am in the middle of a print so that is 30 minutes away from happening. I cant delete it or anything. Is this weird or what? and why do macs create 2 files when emailed to a pc? Can I stop this from happening at my end?

It is the resource fork of the mac file. Always open the bigger one and you should be okay... actually doesn't one say .rsrc?

no it shows two identical files but the bracket info is different (file size) and yes in the past I found it was always the larger of the 2 but lately it seems to be the smaller or the larger. Bloody annoying. For instancew this one has one at 1.09 MB and the other at 679 KB weird for sure. closed flexi and now I can delete the original and resave the smaller file and it opens fine.
