Epson Dropped the Ball big time with Epson G6070 release

Hot take here, epson actually drove the f*ck out of sales by holding the ink in guantanamo until enough folks ordered 10 sets of ink... Bad logistics or just brilliant double reverse guerilla marketing?
I got about 20 more white not shown in the pic

Question for you victor bogdanov ...

We now, barely, have a complete set of ink.... Had the printer for about 2 months? Have not fired it up. Distributor sales rep is not even sure of the initial setup and ink charge type situation.

Since you're up and running could you shoot some help Intel?

Are you running the USB A to USB B cable setup, LAN, or Wifi?

We have not received any maintenance liquid packs. Distributor says there should Maintenance Liquid and Cleaning Liquid. No ETA. Is the Maint. Liquid used as an initial flush on start up, or used automatically in head cleanings not by choice? Don't want to get caught with ink in the head for any length of time. Not even sure if this printer has any kind of capping station to put a "wet cap" solution in to, because I don't like diving in to things without being prepared haha

The maintenence liquid is required, you won't be able to ink up without it.

Ink up is all automated , watch the epson videos on set up.

Once you turn on the printer it'll walk you through ink up.

Im using ethernet connection etc was like any other epson printer, pretty straight forward/fool proof.

The maintenence liquid is what it does wet capping with im guessing

Cleaning Liquid is if you're not printing for extended time, flush the ink with it

That's kind of how I saw it also... We have other cleaning and maintenance products from our current dtf printers, but I'm worried without the maintenance liquid pack, it will want to push solution into the capping station and it's not there...

Back at a stand still with that printer

you wont even get that far, it wont let you click next to start ink-up until you insert all the required ink + maintenance pack

Can anyone tell me what the actual print width is for the 36" and 24" rolls with the fiery software and the g6070. Still waiting for ML to get started.

I am finally up and running. I have been pretty lucky, everything is working perfectly. I started with a 10' gang sheet, then did a 20' and 25' They ran perfectly through the Miro. I did the first one with 24" film and the next 2 with the 36". Victor was right on, I was able to print 23.5, but with the confidence strip. I did 23" still better than the 22" standard. The quality is beautiful and they press perfectly. I almost gave up waiting, but it has been worth the wait.

Be sure to have good ventilation and wear PPE around the machine. There is no safety testing done to show "no external exhaust needed" or how the filters compare to external exhaust.

If you do a whole day of printing you'll notice oil buildup past the filters.

Have you tried printing on 4 pass mode white only and still cure ? The printer is capable of 2 pass mode white only printing at 165 sq ft an hour. I wish I knew this when choosing a dryer as the short tunnels dryers recommended for the Epson G6070 can't cure 165 sq ft/hr. Need regular length tunnel

I have about 15k sq ft printed on mine now. Printer is working perfectly, no problems there as expected. That is why I waited for Epson.

Had 2 odd things happen with the printer:

1: in the middle of the night the printer went into "head cleaning set replacement" mode . The wiper etc were at over 50% life left. Head was uncapped for 6+ hours do to the printer going into this mode, odd because it requires user confirmation before entering this mode

2: in the middle of the night printer got "media remains in the printer" error as if someone was trying to remove the media but did not remove it. odd because this again has to be used initiated

If this happens again I'll let Epson know

The Chinese dryers on the other hand are not something I'm used to, Amazing how there is nothing to back "no external exhaust needed".

Here is what the china manufacturer says regarding air testing:

Our Miro 36 has not experienced any problems that would require us to return it for a different Shaker/Dryerhave. I'll admit that their videos may use some work because several of them lacked the necessary clarity. But after we got it going, we were good to go, and it has been operating well for over month now. Our electrican is setting up new wiring and we are moving in Vastex dryer to do the small job emergency jobs that we do by hand. If you are in the Philly area and want to see our setup just email and/or I can make some videos.
