exporting an eps file in signlab 8 wtf?

I generally work in signlab 5 and exporting eps files is generally fast. I do have signlab 8 in my laptop and occassionally for whatever reasons I use it and resend the file as eps across the network so that I can open them in signlab 5 but it seems to take forever to generate an eps file!!! Is there a setting somewhere that is off? Can I speed up the process? anyone?

I just think the program is doing something a lot different than it used to. In fact I can import the eps file while it is still generating it and I obviously am missing a certain amount of info. I have never experienced that before with any program. I think that file took over 20 minutes to save across a local network and that is just unacceptable.
