Faux Stucco

Another using dryvitt (sp) or a similar product to make a stucco look? Just wondering how it is applied, spray or trowel.

spray or trowel based on preferred outcome - spray is more for just a 'normal' look, trowel if you need a lace or other pattern

You can buy a hopper gun from HD for about $40.00 and plug it into your compressor hose for spraying it on. Gives a nice uniform finish.

What about pre-finished aluminum, could I just sand the paint up enough to scuff it?

I think it would do better if you scuff first. I know I've accidentally gotten over spray on things and the stuff sticks like snot on a babies face..
