fc3100-100 can it be run on a usb?

dusting off my ole fc 3100-100 and I want to know if any one has one running off a usb. If so how, can I get her running again, it has a paralell port and a rs 232c port only. will a usb to db25 adaptor work??? I see them on ebay

will it still pole or have 2 way communication, looking for guidance on if i should go usb to db25 or usb to paralell port....
