Fiberglass chicken, bawk, bawk!

I'm doing a couple of signs that will go on either side of a 4' x 8' trailer with a fiberglass chicken mounted to the trailer. The trailer got picked up by high winds a short while back and the trailer fell over which caused some slight road rash on the chicken as shown in the pic. After installing the signs they asked if I can touch up the chicken where it got damaged. Is it possible to paint on fiberglass? It would appear as though the original color on the bird is some sort of paint. If I can paint it, do you think it would be best to go with acrylic latex, or alkyd paint, or is there a better recommendation for this? I've never painted on fiberglass, so I figured I'd better get some advice before proceeding. Thanks.

fiberglass needs to be primed and then it can be painted with a rattle can or automotive paints. clean and de-grease then spray some rattle primer then some rattle white matte.

If it needs repair some fiberglass resin and cloth if it's bad, or bondo.
Rattle can primer & paints like Krylon should be OK, but test first.
To get a color match you may have to go to enamels.

Thanks for the helpful insight. It doesn't need repair, just the surface color touched up. I think I'll try the spray primer and spray enamel approach. I don't think it's a gel coat because the color scratched off with considerable ease. I would think a gel coat finish would have been more durable than this, but I may be wrong.
