Firmware Update ----> running out of ink

I have had a firmware update done few weeks back. Since then:
1. the "cancel" button on my machine does nothing anymore. I am sure it is not broken but a result of the firmware update.
2. INK WASTE - I have been going through ink like CRAZY.
I am not sure how to fix that. My machine cleaning mode is on normal as it always is.

Can someone let me know if there is anything I can do to take care of this?

Which firmware are you on and where did you get it from?
Who upgraded it?

SignWharehouse (the company that sold us the printer (Mutoh Valuejet 1204)) upgraded the software. One of their tech did. The new firmware is VERSION 1.20.

Have you contacted them?
They do have special firmware, as they OEM this product.
