So i installed an agfa MV about 6 months ago and any time i get a chance ill try to enjoy it and try new materials. well this week i had a customer send me an email asking if i would print on tight nit carpet. so i had them drop off the carpet not as tight nit as i figured it would be but i figured i would try doing it anyway. it seemed to work out well and they loved it this week i also ran a mirror for a Christmas present. anyone else run different products and have pictures?

Nice work, but here are some technical issues to consider before.

Mirror will reflect you UV light back up onto you Heads and will cure the ink so if you have quantity I would be carefull.

Carpet is famous for small hairs gumming up the heads. again onesy twoisy but quantity is amachine killer.

No, its the AGFA 1224 HDC. Much faster than any of the Anapurna series and built like a tank. It was from the Gandi Innovations buy out, and then AGFA did a little redesigning and improvements. It is awesome! I print most of my products on 4 pass at 532 sq ft/hr, about 3 minutes and 45 seconds for a full coverage 4' x 8'. It also as a 2 pass mode which doubles that speed that I can print for some of my products, it shows a little light banding though.

The only problem we ran into was with the hollow doors, the UV lamps need to be turned down or the door goes funky. These were to show off in the shop, but we print a few a year.

I did these on a color span 72 UVR a couple years back. I loved the flat bed. Only down side was it only did 1/4 think stuff. That door above looks great. What is the clearance with your printer?

Is there no risk for your print heads when you print on mirrors? Does the ink on the mirror survive harsh cleaning with strong products?

Only printed the one mirror. No apparent problems. Never washed the mirror, don't plan to either.

How fuzzy does the image get in those crevices? I assume there must be some kind of graininess due to the carriage gap being severely increased over those crevices.
